Manufactured using state-of-the-art CNC machining tools to ensure dimensional tolerances of less than 0.01 mm, the pistons are made from a special high-performance aluminum alloy with a high silicon content that guarantees the same reliability as the OE pistons while offering greater resistance and excellent performance. Some pistons also feature a molybdenum disulphide coating, which is applied by screen printing and further reduces friction to improve performance and durability.Athena engineers ensure advanced technical solutions and the highest quality standards that meet or exceed those of OE production to guarantee performance and reliability. Each piston, developed in Italy by Athena's R&D department, is tested on engine test benches under progressive load and then on the race track to confirm its performance even under the most extreme conditions.The proven quality of Athena pistons is offered at an extremely competitive price. This piston for Athena Standard Bore cylinders is equipped with piston rings that guarantee less friction with the cylinder and therefore higher performance.Athena takes care of the development of the pistons down to the smallest detail: the rings are manufactured in Japan with wear-resistant coatings (PVD or chromium nitride) to increase durability and service life. The rings adapt perfectly to the cylinder liner even under low tangential loads.This piston set contains the piston, the pin, the circlips and the piston rings. The correct size is a tarpaulin that is about 5-10 cm longer than the length of the motorcycle and about 5 cm above the ground. TIP:Don't buy too big, the more it flaps, the more it rubs. And in winter, a tarpaulin always tears and breaks exactly where it can move around. Make sure there is enough space: a gap of at least five centimetres to the ground increases the chance of air exchange and counteracts condensation. If you are in doubt between two sizes, choose the larger option.
